So yeah, this was a poem I wrote probably around a year and a half ago, and for some reason I'm going to re-post it. The poem is called "Insecurity Silenced" and while it's pretty depressing, I feel it's one of the better things I've written. By no means do I consider myself a worthwhile poet, so keep that in mind as you read this, haha.
 

 

So here it is, my first LJ entry ever. I finally caved in to my girlfriend's unrelenting demands and got an LJ. Woo, go me, haha. Seeing Reggie and the Full Effect/MC Chris last Friday with Chris, Lina, and my wonderful girlfriend Liz, was one of the best times I've had in a long time. Just was pretty sad Liz had to miss most of the show on account of working and the show having to end retardedly early so they could turn Diesel into a nightclub from 10pm to 2am. Stupid club. But nonetheless, we enjoyed the show for all it's awesomeness. We then walked around the Southside and went out to the Cheesecake Factory where we had some amazing food, some good drinks, a lot of great laughs, and probably the coolest waitress I've ever encountered at a restaurant. She knew Reggie too, so it was props all around for her on that, haha.

Then I got to go out the next afternoon to lunch at Rock Bottom restaurant with Chris, Lina, Liz, and their friends Mandy and Matt. Mandy and Matt were amazingly cool. Mandy was just a genuinely awesome and sweet person and Matt was a really cool chill guy. He and I definitely bonded on our sharing the same name and loving Belgian wheat ales. And really, what can I say about Lina and Chris? They're sincerely two of the most amazing people I've ever met, and just one of the most awesome couples I've ever seen. After lunch everyone parted ways to head on their journeys home (which was of course a bummer). Liz and I decided on a cheer up by going out shopping. (How masculine a decision of me!) I bought one decent shirt, and a tablecloth with sleeves, because it was 6 dollars. Seriously, 6 dollar shirt? Deece. So what if it looks like I belong laying somewhere with foodstuffs atop me, xD.

I definitely need more adventures like the Reggie show in my life. Hell, just as the topic title says, Reggie put it best, "good times, good tunes, good buds". Those three things are key to my happiness in life. All in all, I'm just really thankful and fortunate to have such a sweet, amazing, understanding, beautiful, and caring girl as Liz in my life. I'm also very thankful to know generous and awesome people like Chris and Lina. I guess what it boils down to is, there's a lot to be thankful for in life. It's just all about taking the time to stop and not always worry about the downsides. To put everything down on the floor, sit down in the midst of it all, and remember what it's like to admire things like we're seeing them for the first time.
